Existing ATC systems not only promote delays and routing problems, but can also hinder adequate information transfer between controllers and pilots. Now more than ever, this has become a vital issue globally. This study examines the progressing ATM industry, assessing the global technology markets for radar systems, ATM software, GPS-related infrastructure, voice and data switches and links, and surface movement guidance and control systems (SMGCS).
