Communications Wire & Cable
US Outside Plant and Premises Markets

This report examines the US market for communications wire and cable, breaking down the market into copper exchange cable, copper data communications cable, coaxial cable and fiber optic cable. Over the past five years, the markets for each of these products have grown substantially. Even copper exchange cable, once predicted to rapidly decline in this decade, has increased its total dollar value. The markets for all of the products, both inside and outside plant, have been driven under the lash of the rapid growth in Internet and fax use and the rapid drop in the price of computing power. This report forecasts the US market for each product for each year from 1998 through 2003. It concludes with profiles of the top US manufacturers for communications wire and cable.
